Wordpress Upgrade – Issues

April 29th, 2008 · No Comments

I tried to upgrade my wordpress to version 2.5.1, not sure why but always seem to have a problem. Initially, uploaded all the files to the directory went okay (following all the instructions). When I run wp-admin/upgrade.php => Nothing happen.

www.after36.com/blog went blank for a day

Thought that everything is gone. I tried again to upload all the files for the 4 times and try to upgrade. This time it went ok. (Maybe is the filezilla ftp version, latest version works) But I have garbages on top of my page…:(. Turn out to be due to a plugin. (all_in_one_SEO)

Page looks ok, but when I try to login. User not found…Damn

This took a while, check the sql database realise that no user is define in the table wp_user, why? Upgrade script kill it? Dunno. Not sure what I need to do to get this done, I try adding a user in the sql database table wp_user. User is defined, but password not accepted. (must be MD5) Once, that is fixed.

You have no permission to do that

Shit! I’m not an expert with sql, but i guess there must be a way to change my user as administrator. Yes, from the wp_usermeta. This is important: wp_capabilities a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;b:1;}

Finally, everything works. WP2.5.1 looks nice.

:)
